Questions
Common questions
Do I need any experience to start? +
No. Most people who walk in have never thrown a punch. Every session is private and scaled to your level, and your first class is free.
Will I have to spar or get hit as a beginner? +
No. Beginners drill technique, footwork, and pad work safely. Sparring is always optional and earned, never forced on newcomers.
Am I too old or out of shape to start? +
Almost certainly not. We coach plenty of people well past 40 and folks who hadn't trained in years. Because it's one-on-one, everything is scaled to exactly where you are.
What should I bring to my first class? +
Athletic clothes, supportive shoes, and a water bottle. We provide loaner gloves for your first few sessions.
How much does it cost? +
Your first class is always free. After that we keep it simple with contract-free monthly plans, packages, and drop-in options. Call or text for current rates.
Do you offer strength training, or just kickboxing? +
Both. Alongside kickboxing and Muay Thai, sessions can focus on real barbell and kettlebell strength, or blend striking and strength into one workout.
What's the difference between Muay Thai and BJJ? +
Muay Thai is stand-up striking (punches, kicks, knees, elbows, clinch). BJJ is ground grappling. We teach striking, and we're the only place at the Lake that does.
Do you offer self-defense and women's self-defense? +
Yes. We offer practical, striking-based self-defense, including private and small-group women's self-defense sessions and workshops.
Can visitors to the Lake drop in? +
Yes. We welcome private drop-in sessions for travelers, with no membership required. It's a great way to keep your routine or try something new.
Where are you located? +
In Linn Creek, Missouri, minutes from Camdenton off Highway 54, central to the whole Lake of the Ozarks. The exact address is shared when you book.
Do you train people from around the Lake? +
Yes, from Camdenton, Osage Beach, Lake Ozark, Sunrise Beach, Four Seasons, Eldon, and across Camden County.
How do I book? +
Call or text (573) 280-5774, or email tymcduffey@gmail.com. Tell us your goals and availability, and we'll get you scheduled.
